Carlos Gonzalez

Assistant Director of Bands, Victoria East High School
Mr. Gonzalez graduated from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi with a Bachelor of Music. He teaches at Victoria East High School, as the assistant director of bands, where he helps develop the marching band program, concert band, and jazz ensemble. In addition to his responsibilities at VEHS, Mr. Gonzalez also teaches beginning band classes, and assists with the Symphonic Winds at Stroman Middle School. He plays regularly as a freelance horn player with the Corpus Christi Wind Symphony, the Corpus Christi Municipal Band, and the Crossroad Community Band in Victoria. He has performed in professional ensembles under the direction of the world renowned Colonel John R. Bourgeois and Composer Frank Ticheli.
He is a past winner of the Texas A&M University Kingsville Regional Horn Solo Competition and teaches privately in the South Texas area. As a jazz musician, he has performed with the likes of “Blue” Lou Marini, Doug Beach, Frank Mantooth, and Tom Braxton. Mr. Gonzalez is a member of professional organizations such as Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
