The Victoria East National Honor Society is the largest student organization on campus. Our regular NHS meetings are on the 2nd Wednesday of the month in the auditorium immediately after school. Monthly meetings are mandatory. Makeup meetings are held the following Friday at 7am in room D205. Members can not miss more than 3 meetings with risk of dismissal.
Requirements for membership:
Maintain 90 cumulative average
Attend monthly meetings or make up meetings (each absence results in 2 additional service hours per absence)
Students who miss more than 2 meetings will be considered for dismissal.
Complete 25 service hours per year of membership
Pay dues of $20 annually
Along with Academics - demonstrate qualities of service, character and leadership
NHS members and potential members may not engage in activities such as fighting, drugs, vapes, skipping, vulgarity, or disrespect of authority. Any of these actions may result in denial of membership, probation or dismissal.
Must disclose any office referrals received in high school. (office referrals will be reviewed to determine if actions violate NHS virtue of character , Failure to disclose will most likely result in denial of membership)
NHS Collar may be used for Senior pictures. Make arrangements with Mrs. Wertman. Deposit of $20 please.
Collars may be picked up at May 8th meeting. $20 deposit. CASH
