Certified Nursing Aide Students Participate in Pinning Ceremony

On Tuesday, April 25, 2023, eighteen Career & Technology Institute (CTI) students enrolled in Practicum in Health Science - Certified Nursing Aide earned their pin for the completion of the Certified Nursing Assistant program.

The Pinning Ceremony for nursing programs honors and celebrates their journey in healthcare. The practice of the pinning ceremony is standard throughout the United States, and the pin symbolizes competence to serve and provide healthcare to society.

“I am immensely proud of this incredible group of young women,” said CTI Health Science Teacher Rachel Lowrey. “They are compassionate and competent caregivers, and I am so excited to see where the skills they have learned will take them in their healthcare careers.”

The CNA practicum course is an unpaid capstone experience for students participating in a coherent sequence of courses in Health Science. The course is designed to give students supervised practical application and skills. Certified Nurse Aide certification is available at the conclusion of the course. The course is one year in length.
