Victoria ISD is excited to announce the launch of District Digest, a new quarterly print newsletter designed to bring essential district updates straight to families. In todayโs digital world, the district is taking it back to the basics to ensure that all parents and guardians receive key information in the most direct way possibleโright through their childโs backpack.
The first edition of District Digest will be sent home with students this week, just before Spring Break. To ensure families donโt miss out, parents and guardians will receive a text alert the evening the newsletter goes home as a reminder to check their childโs backpack or ask them for their copy.
This quarterly newsletter will serve as a valuable resource to increase parent and family engagement by sharing important district updates, highlighting key events, and providing need-to-know information.
What's Inside the Spring 2025 Edition?
The Spring 2025 edition of District Digest features a variety of important updates and resources for parents and guardians. The newsletter includes an overview of VISDโs Five Strategic Priorities, helping families better understand the districtโs goals and direction. The VISD Spotlight section highlights major initiatives happening right now, including course selection, new Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, and more.
Additionally, the โDid You Know?โ section shares important facts about VISD, addressing common questions and celebrating the great things happening in our schools. Lastly, the back page outlines all the ways families can stay informed and engaged, ensuring they have access to the latest district updates through multiple communication channels.
"District Digest is our way of making sure parents and guardians have access to important information about our schools and students," said Ashley Alvarez, Executive Director of Communications. "We are committed to keeping our school community informed and engaged in our districtโs journey, and this print newsletter is one more way to make that happen."
Parents and guardians are encouraged to check their childโs backpack and explore the first edition of District Digest when it arrives this week.
