Victoria ISD is pleased to announce that L’Rhonda Boyd, current assistant principal at O’Connor Elementary, will transition into a new leadership role as principal of Chandler Elementary School beginning with the 2025–26 school year.
Boyd brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep commitment to student success, having served as a dedicated educator and campus leader within VISD. She began her education career as a paraprofessional at F.W. Gross Elementary before becoming a classroom teacher at Smith Elementary, where she taught for 10 years. She then served as an instructional coach at O’Connor Elementary for seven years and has been the assistant principal at O’Connor since 2023.
Boyd earned her bachelor’s degree from Prairie View A&M University and her master’s degree from the University of Houston-Victoria. Her background in curriculum development, student support services, and instructional leadership uniquely positions her to continue the strong tradition of excellence at Chandler Elementary.
“I am honored and excited to step into this new role as principal of Chandler Elementary,” Boyd said. “I look forward to working with the amazing students, staff, and families to build on the great work already happening and continue creating a safe, engaging, and successful learning environment.”
Victoria ISD is excited for L’Rhonda Boyd to continue the legacy of greatness at Chandler Elementary and looks forward to the future under her leadership.
