FREE texas college and university application week

October 13–19, 2025 | ApplyTexas Fee Waiver Includes Victoria College and Texas A&M University–Victoria

Texas students will be able to apply to public colleges and universities without paying application fees during Free College Application Week, taking place October 13–19, 2025. The weeklong initiative allows students to submit applications through ApplyTexas at no cost, eliminating a financial barrier that can total hundreds of dollars per student.

Application fees at Texas colleges typically range from $25 to $90 per institution, and many students apply to multiple schools. Removing those fees encourages more students, especially first-generation and low-income applicants, to explore their postsecondary options without cost being a deciding factor.

Locally, Victoria College and Texas A&M University–Victoria are among the institutions included in the ApplyTexas fee waiver. Students may apply to these institutions, as well as any other Texas public university, community college, or trade school, free of charge during the designated week.

The Texas Legislature approved the creation of a statewide Free Application Week to expand access to higher education and increase college enrollment. The initiative designates the second full week of October each year as the official window for the ApplyTexas fee waiver.

Texas students planning to enter higher education in Fall 2026 or beyond are encouraged to use this opportunity to submit their applications during the October 13–19 window.
