Victoria ISD has opened the application window for the 2025โ26 Pathways in Technology Early College High School Program, offering current 8th-grade students a no-cost opportunity to earn industry-recognized certifications, engage in hands-on learning, and follow an accelerated path toward college and career success. Applications are now open and close on January 23, 2026.
As part of the application and planning process, families are invited to attend the P-TECH & Freshman 2 Freshman Parent Information Night on Wednesday, Jan. 8, from 5:30โ6:30 p.m. at the Victoria West High School Auditorium. The event will include program presentations and breakout sessions to assist families with applications and interest forms.
P-TECH is part of VISDโs commitment to Achieving Excellence for All, providing students with flexible pathways, real-world learning experiences, and direct access to career fields that continue to shape our community and region. Through strong partnerships with Victoria College, Texas A&M UniversityโVictoria, and industry partners across the Crossroads, students in P-TECH have the opportunity to earn up to two years of college credit, participate in work-based learning, and graduate career-ready with valuable credentials.
For the 2025โ26 school year, VISD will offer four P-TECH pathways:
Healthcare: Students gain foundational skills in medical assisting, patient care, and health science careers. VISDโs first P-TECH Healthcare cohort graduated last year with a 100% Medical Assistant Certificate pass rate.
Computer Science: A growing pathway aligned to high-demand technology careers, including programming, cybersecurity, and IT systems.
Engineering: Hands-on opportunities for students to explore design, robotics, manufacturing, and advanced problem-solvingโsupported by VISDโs expanding engineering and STEM career programs.
Education & Training: A direct pipeline for future educators, created in partnership with VC and TAMU-V, supporting students who want to become teachers, coaches, or education professionals.
โP-TECH is an investment in our studentsโ futures and in the strength of our community,โ said Director of College and Career Readiness LaDonna Fory. โBy expanding early college pathways, we are giving students access to opportunities that change the trajectory of their lives.โ
Students currently in 8th grade who are interested in one of these pathways and are ready to challenge themselves academically in a supportive, career-focused environment are encouraged to apply during the open window.
