New app provides bus tracking, route updates, and direct communication with Transportation
Victoria ISD is launching Stopfinder for the 2026-27 school year, a secure mobile app that gives parents and guardians of bus-riding students real-time access to their child's school bus information, helping families stay informed before and after school each day.
Stopfinder is a free, easy-to-use app available to authorized parents and guardians of eligible bus riders. The app allows families to view their student's assigned bus stop information, receive real-time bus location updates, and communicate directly with the Victoria ISD Transportation Department.
Designed to provide greater convenience and peace of mind, Stopfinder allows parents to customize notifications based on their preferences, ensuring they receive timely updates about their student's bus route.
Because Stopfinder integrates directly with Victoria ISD's transportation routing system, the Transportation Department can send route-specific notifications only to families impacted by delays, road closures, weather, or other transportation changes. This targeted communication helps keep parents informed without unnecessary districtwide notifications.
Stopfinder allows families to:
View assigned bus stop locations and scheduled pickup and drop-off times.
Receive customizable GeoAlerts when the bus is approaching the stop.
Receive route-specific notifications from the Transportation Department.
Communicate directly with Transportation through secure two-way messaging.
"Our goal is to provide families with timely, accurate information about their child's transportation while making communication with our department easier than ever," said Transportation Director Shanquill Fennell. "Stopfinder gives parents greater visibility into their student's bus route and allows us to quickly communicate important updates when they matter most."
Parents and guardians of eligible bus riders will receive an email invitation to register for Stopfinder before the start of the 2026-27 school year. After registering, families can download the free Stopfinder app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, sign in using the email address associated with their invitation, and begin accessing their student's transportation information.
