Victoria ISD would like to congratulate both the Victoria East and West Wrestling teams on a great season. Many wrestlers advanced to regionals, with some making it to state in Houston.
Both Victoria East’s Larissa Velasquez and Victoria West’s Joann Martinez made it to the fifth-place match at state. Martinez walked away with the win, securing a fifth-place state finish.
Ariana Jacques and Damien Guevara also competed at the state tournament.
The district would also like to congratulate longtime Victoria ISD wrestling coach, Kerry Iannazzo on his 30 year career and wish him all the best in his retirement.
