Hello! I am Christian Gonzalez, and I hope this page helps in these confusing times. My email is, Christian.Gonzalez@visd.net.

My office hours are 9-11am, and 1-3p on Microsoft Teams. This page should be used for my 2nd,5th,6th, and 7th World Geography classes. I will be posting our weekly plan each week here by Friday. All course documents and details will be found in Microsoft Teams in the students class account.Refer to the main Victoria East Web page for email naming convention and password for Microsoft Teams access for students. The following links should be helpful for parents and students alike.

Here is what our first week will look like with remote teaching. I will post a plan like this every week on this page by Friday, 4PM.

Week of 3/30-4/3

Each day has a learning opportunity to be completed:

1. Monday: Welcome Back and catch up

  • Students will respond to the question and check in with their teacher

2. Tuesday: South Asia Map 

  •  Students will print or drawl out the map in the "Assignments" tab and find and label the political features on the map. 

  • Political features are listed on the South Asia Map Instructions document 

3. Wednesday: South Asia Map 

  • Students will find and label the physical features listed on the South Asia Map Instructions document 

4. Thursday: Finishing the South Asian Map

  • Finish labeling and color the Map. 

5. Friday: Quizizz and CNN 10

  • Students will log-in using THEIR FULL NAME and Class Period (ex: Christian Gonzalez-2) to complete Quizizz then watch CNN 10 using the link provided 

Week of 4/6 – 4/9 

Monday— Welcome to Class video & Vocab. South Asia Part #1 
Students will view a video that provides directives for this week’s tasks. 
Students will begin defining vocabulary terms. 

Tuesday — Vocab. South Asia Part #2 & video on COVID-19 in Nepal
Students will continue and complete defining vocabulary terms for this unit.
Students will view a short video on how Nepal is confronting the Pandemic.

Wednesday — South Asia Physical Geography
Students will view video on South Asian Physical Geography and interact by answering questions along the way.

Thursday – Vocab. Quiz & CNN 10
Students will display their vocabulary knowledge by completing a short quiz over the terms that they defined earlier this week.
Students will watch the April 9th segment of CNN 10 and post their thoughts on a current event.

Friday – GOOD FRIDAY – NO SCHOOL  

4/27 - 5/1
Monday
— Welcome to Class video and Asia Map
Students will look at the map directions, and then start working on the Asia map.

Tuesday — Asia Map (continued)
Students will continue to work on the map. 

Wednesday — Study Hall 
Students will work on the Asia map if not finished, and any other assignments they need to catch up on. I will be available during the normal office hours (9-11 AM and 1-3 PM). 

Thursday – One Child Policy
Students will watch the One Child Policy video, and then complete a writing assignment connected to the video.

Friday – Map quiz and CNN 10 
Students will use their maps they completed earlier in the week to complete the map quiz. Then students will watch a CNN 10.

Week of 5/11-5/14 

Monday— Welcome to Class video and class update & Edpuzzle "Oceania"
Students watch a weekly update video to be informed of what is coming up and due this week. Students will then watch the lecture on the Edpuzze site over the Oceania and answer the questions through the lecture.   

Tuesday — Australian Realm lecture  
Students will listen and take notes over the Australia Lecture. Once they are finished with the lecture they will answer questions pertaining to the lecture on a separate word document and submit their answers on Teams.  

Wednesday — Study hall 
Students will work on missing assignments to get caught on daily work. 

Thursday – YouTube video over the Ring of Fire   
Students will watch a YouTube video covering the Ring of Fire   

Friday – Finishing the Ring of Fire Video & 3,2,1 
Students will finish watching the Ring of Fire video and complete 3,2,1. Students will then fill out a document on 3 things they learned, 2 facts, and 1 question they had over the lesson.
